I have maintained a general adult psychiatry practice in this area since 1963 and a forensic psychiatry practice since 1980. In addition to my solo private practice, I have personal experience with hospital administrations, bylaws and boards. This makes me uniquely qualified to discover data ignored by other investigators. I am also knowledgeable regarding Emergency, Intensive Care Unit and nursing floor staffs' practices and procedures. During my career, I have served on various committees and dealt with matters of credentialing, professional conduct, ethics, and medical records.

Serving as a consultant or expert witness, I have worked for the plaintiff and the defendant in a variety of cases. I have extensive experience in the following areas:

  • Assessment of competence
  • Evaluation of ability to stand trial and/or testify
  • Testamentary capacity
  • Use of psychotropic medications and other treatment modalities
  • Exams for commitment
  • Evaluation of medical malpractice cases including standard of care, causation, and damages
  • Review of wrongful injury/death cases
  • Assessment of ethical issues
  • Review of medical records, medications, laboratory results, etc.
  • Review of professional conduct and credentialing questions
  • Insurance fraud, including denied claims and “double dipping”
  • Construction of detailed timeline to illustrate sequelae and consequences of events
  • Research of literature for pertinent data
