Human Factors Consultants is a partnership that specializes in providing legal
expertise, consultation and testimony on perception, eyewitness identification,
police procedures, memory, children's understanding and testimony, fingerprint
identifications, linguistics and language, verbal and non verbal harassment,
human factors of safety, including product design, warnings, and training, and
human factors of accidents. |

Our services include consultation, review of existing research and science,
collection of new research, preparation of reports and affidavits, depositions, and
trial testimony. We have assisted clients in ten states and six Federal district
courts representing plaintiffs and defendants in civil cases, and prosecution and
defense in criminal cases. |

Our areas of specialization include: |

Eyewitness observation and perception, eyewitness memory, eyewitness
identification, and lineup and photospread procedures. We specialize in the
factors that affect the accuracy of adults' and children's eyewitness testimony
or procedures for interviewing eyewitnesses, weapon focus, cross racial
identifications, and the effects of stress and trauma. |

Ralph Haber has a Ph.D. in experimental psychology from Stanford University
(1957) and post-doctoral training in human factors from Cambridge, England
(1970-71). He has taught at Stanford University, Yale University, the University
of Rochester and the University of Illinois at Chicago.

Lyn Haber has a Ph.D. in experimental linguistics from University of California
at Berkeley (1970), and is nationally certified in Speech-Language Pathology.
She has taught at Temple University, Stanford University, the University of
Rochester, the University of Illinois at Chicago, and Arizona State University. |

Between them they have received 25 grants and contracts from federal and
military granting agencies, published 12 books and 250 articles in scientific
journals and books, and given 150 presentations at professional conventions
and conferences. |
